Once you open a photo that is on your computer you may encounter a scratch disk error. That should get you into the program, try it and see if it works.

Once you install the program, you will have to go to your virtual memory settings in control panel/system/advanced/performancesettings/advanced and change the virtual memory settings, i currently have mine set at 40. yes you can get it to work there are a couple changes you have to make.

I have six different photo programs including photo shop 6.0 pro and the only software i use to edit is adobe photodeluxe 2.0. I have two machines both with xp, one with xp pro and the other home addition. I couldn't even figure out the interface on PhotoShop Elements. I mean I'm sure they'd help if they could, but they seem to be using more robust programs. I think the experts out here have already stated their preferences so if we PDX adherents need advanced help, we'll probably be on our own. I love my PhotoDeluxe 4.0 because it does what 2.0 did, plus does it better. You are creating much more complex things than I am - maybe you should really save up and get a more robust image editor. Thanks all - by the way i am liking my PDX 4 much better than PDX2. Meanwhile since its smaller than the text - and slightly transperent (50-60% for example) - it doesnt look too obtrusive to the rest of the image. What happens is that if its a contrasting color (Black/White) it gives just enough cloud for the text to pop out and not get eaten by the image. What i have been doing lately is creating a new layer and then using the rectangle tool to create a box just about the size of the text (maybe a hair smaller) and then using the transparency to take it down.

If i set it to more than 65% it says my scratch disk is full which is impossible since i have a 250GB HD (125/125 partition) and I know there is enough RAM to run the stupid thing. Now it wont let me open one of mypages at ALL. but it still crashes.Īt first it was only when i used Text. I have tried a number of different settings for how much Memory should be aloted to PDX. It seems to want to crash on me regularly. Overall I do like it better and was able to finish this weeks project with it.
